More about me and my story so far…

Before becoming a Celebrant I was a secondary English teacher for over a decade, ultimately as a Head of Department in Suffolk. Relocating to live with my husband in West Yorkshire, I found myself ready for a new challenge and quite by chance was then introduced to the idea of training to be a humanist Celebrant.

Everything changed from there. Timetables, bells and piles of marking one minute. Ceremonies, writing for a living and the steep learning curve of self-employment the next. Completely different worlds, but thankfully a host of transferable skills.

Since starting life as a humanist ceremony business in 2010, Your Three Days Ltd has flourished. As a result of so many of my clients falling in love with the unique creative method, it has expanded. I don’t rest on my laurels though, far from it. Whilst I’m very proud of my 10 years of experience,  300+ ceremonies designed, written and led and 80+ pages of outstanding testimonials, I take nothing for granted. I want to make every client’s experience the best it can be. I try and go above and beyond in everything I do.

Creating beautiful humanist ceremonies will always be the core of my business – but now my consultancy service and ‘Portraits in Prose’ Commissions have opened up my bespoke writing to a whole new audience, unrestricted by geography or my availability on a certain day. From Land’s End to John O’Groats, I’m now working with individuals, couples and families all over the country. I may never meet them. I still have the privilege and pleasure of creating beautiful writing with them all the same.

My aim is to promote the very best of bespoke options that are available on the most important days of people’s lives. This is my passion as well as my ‘job’. I cannot imagine a better working life.
