Naomi and Stu’s Matlock humanist wedding ceremony was an absolute joy from start to finish. I think you can get a sense of that just from these two photos.
In their eyes, this was their way of celebrating having gone through thick and thin together in the previous 6 years, now being ready to commit to one another for life. They also wanted a very warm and inclusive bespoke wedding ceremony that embraced their much-loved family and friends in a very real way. There were guests present from no less than 16 different countries, a record that still stands I think in my 15 year Humanist Celebrant career, and so Stu and Naomi wanted to really celebrate the effort so many had made to be there.
Their ceremony script included their ‘Story so far’, two readings, full repetition vows and a group affirmation, so all their loved ones could show their love and enthusiasm with a resounding chorus of ‘We will!’ when asked if they will all continue to support them going forward.
As you can see, there was a heartfelt festival theme as Naomi and Stu aimed to recreate their favourite bits from a collection of festivals on a sleepy hillside farm in Derbyshire. They definitely succeeded. They led us all away from the ceremony area to the reception drinks, music playing as we processed, to then get the party started in style.
The happiest of memories and a truly characterful and authentic celebration of a wonderful, wonderful couple.
You can see how Stu and Naomi felt about their Your Three Days ceremony in their own words below:
‘Thank you so much for helping us to realise our dream. I’m so happy to hear that you enjoyed being part of our celebration. We had lots of comments about how beautiful our ceremony was, how great you were and how much they loved the idea of a humanist wedding. You were a big hit! The rest of the day could not have played out more perfectly. I had the best day of my life by a long way. I loved every single minute. Speak to you soon, Love Naomi x’
‘We had such an amazing time as well – we couldn’t imagine it going any more perfectly! Thank you so much for our wonderful ceremony – it was perfect in every way and something we shall remember for the rest of our lives, as will many of our guests I have been told! Thanks again for your contribution to our day. If someone asked me if I could change anything, there would be nothing at all I would do differently. Perfect in every single way. Stu & Naomi Xxx’
